Katrina: aka "Kat"
Katrina is a Bengal tiger. Bengal Tigers are native to Southern Asia found in Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma and India. The Bengal tiger is significantly smaller in size compared to the Siberian tiger weight up to 550 lbs. Bengal tigers have thinner coats and more defined strips around their faces. All tigers are solitary except during breeding and on average spend 85% of their time laying around. The rest of the time is spent hunting or checking the perimeters of their territory.
Kat was rescued from her life as a mascot of a football team. After she was declawed front and back, she suffered permanent damage and was no longer wanted as a mascot. Katrina eats about 40 lbs of meat a day. Tigers do not make good pets, no matter how you raise them, they are still wild animals and even in play can kill you. These animals need to be respected and envied for their extreme power and beauty.... in the wild. Because of the declawing and ignorance of needed skills, we cannot release Kat back into the wild.
